NoLoop is built around a modest idea: when a feed makes the next piece of content automatic, a small boundary can bring back a chance to choose.
We use “break the doomscrolling loop” as shorthand. The research literature uses more precise terms: design friction, stopping cues, de-immersion, and digital self-regulation. The distinction matters. NoLoop is not a medical treatment and does not make claims about changing dopamine. It changes the interaction so continuing requires a moment of intention.
The studies are not tests of NoLoop itself. They examine related interventions in other apps and settings. We link to the original papers so you can review the evidence directly.
